Progress West achieves Show-Me 5! The Department of Health and Senior Services recognized Progress West Hospital in O'Fallon as Missouri's 23rd Show-Me 5 Hospital in August! Their award was presented to staff on Oct. 21 by Lisa Schlientz, State Breastfeeding Coordinator. The Show-Me 5 Hospital Initiatve recognizes hospitals that have completed five of the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative. The team at Progress West worked with the Center for Health Equity, Education, & Research (CHEER) as part of the Communities and Hospitals Advancing Maternity Practices (CHAMPS) National program. The CHAMPS National program provides training and mentoring to hospitals that are working to improve maternal and child health outcomes and increase breastfeeding rates. Progress West Hospital was also named a CHEER CHAMPion of the week in October! Congratulations to all the staff at Progress West who worked so hard for these achievements!
