Missouri Law RSMO 191.918 has been updated by HB 1320 which was signed by Governor Jay Nixon on April 3,2014 and became effective on August 28, 2014. The law now reads (in part):
“Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, a mother may, with discretion, breastfeed her child or express breast milk in any public or private location where the mother is otherwise authorized to be.”
and adds an exemption from jury duty for:
“any nursing mother, upon her request, and with a completed written statement from her physician to the court certifying she is a nursing mother.” (RSMO 494.430)
